This new industry briefing from DrFirst highlights trends and advances with electronic prescribing of controlled substances (EPCS), and reveals that retail pharmacies have adopted EPCS technology at a swift pace, while providers lag far behind. While the majority of U.S. pharmacies are EPCS enabled, only about six percent of prescribers nationwide have this ability—despite the fact that roughly 90 percent of EHRs are EPCS-enabled.
